Bharath College of Science & Management upholds a structured framework of rules and regulations to maintain academic integrity, discipline, and a respectful campus environment. All students are expected to adhere to these guidelines, which are designed to support effective learning, personal development, and harmonious institutional functioning.
Student Code of Conduct
Students are expected to conduct themselves with dignity, responsibility, and respect towards faculty, staff, fellow students, and visitors. Behaviour that reflects honesty, discipline, and ethical values is fundamental to campus life.
Any form of misconduct, indiscipline, harassment, or behaviour that brings disrepute to the institution is strictly prohibited and subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
Classroom Discipline
Students must maintain decorum and active engagement in classrooms and laboratories. Punctuality, attentiveness, and respect for faculty instructions are essential components of classroom discipline.
Disruptive behaviour, use of unauthorized electronic devices during lectures, or actions that interfere with the teaching–learning process are not permitted.
Attendance & Leave Policy
Regular attendance is mandatory for all academic activities, including lectures, practical sessions, and internal assessments. Students are required to meet the minimum attendance percentage prescribed by university and institutional regulations.
Leave applications must be submitted through the prescribed procedure. Prolonged or frequent absenteeism without valid reasons may result in academic penalties or ineligibility for examinations.
Campus Behaviour Guidelines
Students are expected to maintain respectful conduct within the campus premises. Any form of verbal or physical abuse, discrimination, intimidation, or damage to institutional property is strictly prohibited.
The campus is a non-smoking, alcohol-free, and substance-free environment. Violation of these guidelines will invite strict disciplinary measures.
Hostel Rules
Students residing in hostels must comply with hostel regulations governing discipline, safety, hygiene, and conduct. Hostel facilities are intended to provide a secure and supportive living environment conducive to academic focus.
Residents must follow designated timings, visitor regulations, and safety instructions. Any violation of hostel rules may lead to disciplinary action, including suspension of hostel privileges.
Examination Rules
Students must adhere strictly to examination regulations prescribed by the institution. Malpractice, impersonation, use of unfair means, or violation of examination protocols is treated as a serious offence.
Examination-related misconduct will be addressed as per institutional and statutory norms, which may include cancellation of results, suspension, or other penalties.
Disciplinary Action Framework
The institution follows a fair, transparent, and proportionate disciplinary process based on principles of natural justice. Disciplinary actions may range from counselling and warnings to suspension or dismissal, depending on the nature and severity of the offence.
Corrective and reformative approaches are emphasized, with the aim of guiding students towards responsible behaviour and personal growth.
Grievance Redressal Procedure
Students may submit grievances related to academic, administrative, or personal matters through the established grievance redressal mechanism. Complaints are reviewed and resolved in a timely, confidential, and impartial manner.
The institution encourages students to voice concerns constructively and assures protection against retaliation, ensuring a supportive and responsive campus environment.
