RRC – Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Bharath College of Science & Management actively promotes health awareness, social responsibility, and positive behavioral change among students. The club functions as an important platform to educate young minds on public health issues, particularly focusing on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and life skills development.

HIV & AIDS Awareness Programme

  • A one-day HIV and AIDS Awareness Programme was conducted by the Red Ribbon Club in the college campus.
  • The programme focused on creating awareness about prevention, stigma reduction, and healthy living.
  • Over 150 students participated and benefited, enhancing their understanding of HIV/AIDS and the importance of informed decision-making.

Peer Education Programme

  • The Red Ribbon Club successfully organized a one-day Peer Education Programme for RRC volunteers within the college premises.
  • This programme aimed to equip students with accurate information, communication skills, and leadership qualities required to act as peer educators.
  • More than 100 students benefited from this initiative, gaining awareness on health-related issues and responsible lifestyle practices.

Student Enrollment

During the current academic year, 100 students were formally enrolled as Red Ribbon Club volunteers, demonstrating strong student participation and commitment towards health education and social awareness initiatives.

Inter-Collegiate Participation

  • Demonstrating active engagement beyond the campus, eight RRC volunteers represented the college in an Inter-Collegiate Meet held at Jamal Mohammed College, Tiruchirappalli.
  • This participation provided students with exposure to wider awareness campaigns, interaction with peers from other institutions, and opportunities for experiential learning.
